The most awaited event in Clark Pampanga officially started today! At the break of dawn on the 9th of February, all shapes and sizes of colorful balloons filled the skies of Pampanga and nearby places. This marks the beginning of 17th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.
Many local and foreign tourists grace this event every year, last years PIHABF visitors reached 80,000. This year, they are expecting more crowd to join this event.
Aside from colorful Hot Air Balloons, trainer planes, helicopters, ultra-light aircraft and some flys-bys exhibitions also be seen and experience by the visitors. This year the US Air Force F-16 doing flight demonstrations is the major attraction.
Captain Meynard Halili will lead the thrilling aerobatics show together will the ace pilots from other foreign countries.
According to Captain Joy Roa, the head of Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, the success of the previous event, are challenged to come up with and more surprises on the hot air balloon venture and aviation spectacles lead by aviation enthusiasts from USA, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland, The Netherlands, Austria, Japan, England and South Korea.
Special-shaped hot air balloons like car-shaped baloon from Germany, a daisy flower, ice cream cone, and a birthday cake from the United States and other regularly shaped huge flying bubbles are the main attraction in the event. Activities like skydiving from the experts from Brunei, Malaysia and the Philippine National Police make mass formation in the sky after jumping from an altitude of not less than 5,000 feet.
Kids will also enjoy the Children’s Activity Center sponsored by Crayola and Hot Dog on Sticks which taught on kite-making, flight simulators and aviation workshops. They can also watch Remote Control car and aircraft competition on specially designated spots.

Fiestang Kuliat of Angeles City was a Great Success!
This year’s Fiestang Kuliat started with grand fashion via an explosive three-fold event with the theme “Sulagpo Ta Na” Fiestang Kuliat grand kick-off program, under the concept, choreography and direction of Peter A. De Vera.
"Fiestang Kuliat is a symbolic celebration of the AngeleƱos' resolve to attain economic stability and prosperity, thus it goes beyond the mere notion that it is a simple fiesta,” said Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan. He also added that this year’s version is “all-encompassing” in nature because it will tackle arts and culture, sports and community involvement activities.
This whole month of October celebration had 40 events ranging from photo exhibits, chariot races, food expo and sports contest, medical and dental missions, blood-letting programs, tree-planting, city-wide clean-up and even a massive job fair.
This year Civic-Military Parade is added and ofcourse the most awaited “Tigtigan, Terakan King Dalan” Festival 2011 which is added by thousands of people. Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan featured Rocksteddy,Mocha Girls. Bloomfields, Brownman Revival, Itchyworms, Mayonnaise and others with only Php80 ticket price. Different booths are located in every corner that offers dishes that Pampanga is known for. Everyone attended enjoy the food,drinks and music offered by the event.
The event is indeed a great success! We look forward for the next Fiestang Kuliat.

NorthPhil Expo 2011 at SM City Clark Started

Provinces that participated in the said event are: Aurora, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Tarlac. Companies and local government tourism offices also participated are Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Clark Development Corporation and Regional Tourism offices of Ilocos, Pangasinan, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, and Central Luzon and booths of various tourism-related establishments such as airlines, hotels and resorts. DOT regional offices from Visayas and Mindanao also participated this year.
Activities are also prepared for the event such as culinary and crafts demo, raffle draws, small corporate games and various presentations showcases different talents of the Filipinos.
According to DOT Central Luzon Director Ronnie Tiotuico, this event was created to promote North Philippines as an International Tourism Hub. He also added that major destinations in Northern Philippines accounted to 14 percent of the country’s total foreign and domestic tourist which is 11.7 million in the past year. Among these major destinations are Baguio City, Ilocos Norte, Zambales and Cagayan.
He said, “To raise these figures even further and make tourism render a high and lasting impact on the region’s economy, we are staging the North Philippines (NorthPhil) Tourism and Travel Expo 2011 as both a travel trade promotion and a consumer marketing event catering to both foreign and domestic markets”, he also added that “The results of the interactions between buyers and sellers at the expo would help us determine the industry’s product development goals and the government’s infrastructure development thrust,”
Tiotuico also stated that Central Luzon alone has been gaining a sustained increase in local and foreign visitor arrivals from around 315,000 in 2006 to 430,000 in 2007, 530,802 in 2008, and 550,452 in 2009.But we want these figures to go up, not just in Central Luzon, but in the rest of North Philippines as a strategic marketing move.
This great event is supported by the Central Luzon Tourism Council and the Philippine Exhibits and Themeparks Corporation (PETCO) as the Event Manager.
