A Glimpse of Clark History





Clark Freeport Zone is named after US Army Signal Corps Major Harold M. Clark, the place is originally called Fort Stotsenberg. The former Clark Airbase was renamed in March 20, 2007 and named as Clark Freeport Zone. The entire Clark airbase was turned over to the Philippine government on November 26, 1991. US forces last element withdrew on November 24, 1997 specifically from Subic Bay.




Clark Freeport Zone is now one of the hottest places to visit in the Philippines.   Various businesses and factories are found in Clark, it also offer a lot of services and nice places for leisure and corporate events.  For all businessmen, Clark is a great place for there are facilities and accommodation that can supply their needs.
Historical places are found also in Clark, they represent the people’s struggle for independence, economic freedom and other significant events. Places of interest include the US Memorial Cemetery, where the remains of 8,000 soldiers are buried from the Spanish-American War to World War II. The Salakot symbolizes the turnover of facility to the Philippine government; it’s a marker President Manuel Roxas, which was erected in honor of the former Philippine president while the Jon Stotsenberg Monument commemorating the Colonel from the US Cavalry. Historical buildings, barn houses, the site of the Old Kelly Theater, the old cannon, and the Kamikaze West Airfield are also worth visiting.

Hot Air Balloon Festival 2012 Officially Started Today!

The most awaited event in Clark Pampanga officially started today! At the break of dawn on the 9th of February, all shapes and sizes of colorful balloons filled the skies of Pampanga and nearby places. This marks the beginning of 17th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.

Many local and foreign tourists grace this event every year, last years PIHABF visitors reached 80,000. This year, they are expecting more crowd to join this event.

Aside from colorful Hot Air Balloons, trainer planes, helicopters, ultra-light aircraft and some flys-bys exhibitions also be seen and experience by the visitors. This year the US Air Force F-16 doing flight demonstrations is the major attraction.

Captain Meynard Halili will lead the thrilling aerobatics show together will the ace pilots from other foreign countries.

According to Captain Joy Roa, the head of Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, the success of the previous event, are challenged to come up with and more surprises on the hot air balloon venture and aviation spectacles lead by aviation enthusiasts from USA, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Poland, The Netherlands, Austria, Japan, England and South Korea.

Special-shaped hot air balloons like car-shaped baloon from Germany, a daisy flower, ice cream cone, and a birthday cake from the United States and other regularly shaped huge flying bubbles are the main attraction in the event. Activities like skydiving from the experts from Brunei, Malaysia and the Philippine National Police make mass formation in the sky after jumping from an altitude of not less than 5,000 feet.

Kids will also enjoy the Children’s Activity Center sponsored by Crayola and Hot Dog on Sticks which taught on kite-making, flight simulators and aviation workshops. They can also watch Remote Control car and aircraft competition on specially designated spots.

Agency Acquired P169-million for New Investment Projects

Clark Development Corporation (CDC) said that new agreements with total investments of over P169 million were signed before year-end.
In the Promotion Department business update submitted to CDC president Felipe Antonio B. Remollo, it was then unfold that the largest project was signed with the Australian Dental Health Laboratories Inc. (DHLI).
Remollo & DHLI director Mary Jane Fowler currently signed the lease agreement.
The firm, which makes a speciality of the manufacture of export-quality pharmaceutical products, will lay an amount of over P137 million for its manufacturing plant in Clark.
& while DHLI is still a new corporation, the CDC president said, its directors & officers have at least eight years of experience in the manufacture of similar products in the Philippines.
He also said that the firm is targeting to export its products to Pakistan, Indonesia, Europe, Australia, & the United States.
The construction work on the manufacturing plant is expected to be done by June next year.
Also signing an agreement with Clark is the Filipino-Korean firm Mugunghwa-Clark Inc., which will operate a P20-million restaurant, café, convenience store, memento shop, golf cart rental, golf tours & massage spa or wellness middle project.
The access of the Filipino-Korean firm in Clark was due to the incursion of Korean tourists visiting the former US-run Clark Air Base & its neighboring conditions.
The investment document also said InvesAsia Philippines Inc., a Hong Kong-based firm, signed a sub-agreement with Philexcel Business Park Inc., which will exclusively embark on in legal & general business transcription, IT support services & business technique outsourcing.
Aviva Global Foods Inc. has also signed a sublease agreement with Nice Logistics Business Park, which will engage in warehousing, storage, seller stock management & repacking of locally produced consumer goods for 100-percent export abroad.
Rizhane Foods Inc. has signed as well as a sublease agreement with SIA Engineering Philippines, which will open canteen project for the workers of the Singaporean firm inside the Clark Aviation complex.

The 17th Philippine International Air Balloon 2012


The most awaited annual event of Clark Pampanga will be held on February 9 to 12, 2012. Around 100,000 tourists are expected to grace the said event. The increase in popularity, recognition from the media and bigger program size, more tourists are expected to visit the 17th annual Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta that will be held at Philippine Air Force's (PAF) ADAC hangar at the Clark Airbase.
According to Noemi Garcia, head of CDC Tourism and Promotions Office, at least nine countries are expected to participate in the event. There are rumors that additional exhibitions and varied aerial demonstrations.
The Clark becomes the home of the annual international aviation sporting events due to many factors such as wide spaces, good flying weather, scenic view and tourists’ amenities are just in the area. Wide Hotels and resorts are also available in the area from simple, budget to luxurious accommodation. Villas and Full Suite Lodging are available to cater groups. Adventure seekers, golfers and casino lovers will definitely find the place very nice as the facilities are available for them to enjoy.
The location is near Angeles City, with its casinos, resorts, night life, bars, restaurants and lodging which are a perfect location for this event to be held.

Diosdado Macapagal International Airport(DMIA) Development Plans

Diosdado Macapagal International Airport(DMIA) is situated in Clark Pampanga. It was developed earlier in 1991 when the US air force left subsequent the eruption of Mount Pinatubo, which led to the vicinity of the base being speckled with wreckage because of lava. The Clark Special Economic Zone authority decided that the airbase be replaced by an airport and here is the Diosdado Macapagal International airport.
The said airport is facing the buzz about the expansion being planned by the Clark Special Economic Zone.


The airport authority is at confidence level about becoming more improved and enhanced airport that maintains DMIA’s reputation as one of the most convenient airport in the industry.
As the facts gathered, Philippine Airlines would like to use the airport as a hub to fly to Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Bangkok and also Taipei. The Philippine government has also improved the viability of the airport by relaxing rules on foreign budget carriers using the airport as a stopover point to other Asian countries.Hundreds and thousands of people travel to and from different destinations. Improving our terminals is a mere way of promoting tourism in our country.
